Angelo Gabriel Transfers to Al Nassr from Chelsea
Angelo Gabriel, the young Brazilian winger, has made a significant move from Chelsea to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League for a transfer fee of approximately €23 million (£19.4 million). The 19-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Al Nassr, a team captained by Cristiano Ronaldo. This transition comes just a year after Angelo's arrival in London from Brazilian club Santos.
During the 2023-24 season, Angelo Gabriel was on loan at Strasbourg, a sister club of Chelsea, where he scored four goals in 21 Ligue 1 matches. Chelsea maintains a sell-on clause in the deal, securing potential future earnings from any subsequent sale of the player. Angelo made history with Santos, becoming the youngest player to debut and score in Brazil's top flight and the Copa Libertadores.
Angelo's move is part of Chelsea's ongoing efforts to balance their squad and finances, with 26 players departing Stamford Bridge this summer. Despite his youth, Angelo has already made a mark on the international stage, having played for Brazil's Under-20 team but awaits a senior team call-up. His transfer to Al Nassr marks a new chapter in his promising career.
