Brentford Captures Carvalho from Liverpool in Significant Transfer
Brentford has successfully signed winger Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool for a total deal worth £27.5 million, including add-ons. The 21-year-old, who has previously been on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City, has committed to a five-year contract with an option for an additional year. Liverpool secures an initial £22.5 million from the transfer and a 17.5% sell-on clause. Fulham, Carvalho's former club, will receive 20% of the profit from this transfer.
Carvalho's stint at Liverpool saw him make only a minor impact, with three goals in 21 appearances. Despite interest from Southampton, who had a £15 million bid rejected, Brentford managed to clinch his signature. Last season, Carvalho demonstrated his potential by scoring nine goals in 20 matches for Hull City, aiding their near play-off qualification. His move to Brentford marks a new chapter as he seeks to establish himself in the Premier League.
